CAPE COD - “PUT U DOWN”
The Ukraine’s Cape Cod put out a robotic little R&B jam about a week ago, and it is currently available for free download at his Soundcloud page. Featuring a breathy male version of Siri jiving it up amid a four-on-the-floor dance beat and bristling synth leads, the original version of “Put U Down” is both exotic and intelligent. Minimalistic downtempo passages intersperse digitally decayed vocal samples, clean sheets of atmospheric synth, and the crash of EDM percussion. Fans of the wonky sound of 1990, or the soul-infused old school house of Digits or Disclosure will enjoy this sensual sampling of Cape Cod’s wares.
